I started since there wasn't a whole lot sysadminly out there in the blog-o-sphere, and there certainly was zilch that even acknowledged NetWare's existence. There was a hole, and I had just built the NetWare equivalent of public_html mod-userdirs web-serving and needed content. And thus, a blog was born. My first 100 or so regular readers were mostly drawn from the Novell-centric communities. Also, I explain. At length, and frequently. A blog allowed me to do that where other people could perhaps find it useful, instead of in the car to the ever patient (but hardly retentive) ether. 1250ish entries later I'm still explaining things. NetWare went away a while ago, but that hasn't stopped me. Back to blogs... A big-mess-o-blogs that picked me up a while back is Planet Sysadmin. http://planetsysadmin.com/ A whole lot of blogs, so pick and chose the ones you like. An up-and-comer I'm keeping an eye on is the ServerFault blog. http://blog.serverfault.com/ These are the guys who keep StackOverflow and all the related sites running. Not a lot of articles yet, but there is promise. Somewhat uniquely, StackOverflow is that rare critter known as an IIS/MSSQL-backed large Internet-facing site. They have big plans, and I'm interested to see how it all works out. --Greg _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
