An interesting topic came up in discussion with a colleague of mine in the area which I was hoping you guys might be able to offer some of your own insight on.
The colleague of mine runs a professional group of his own with an older demographic and they are looking for ways to get more students/young professionals involved in the group. In doing so, he asked what I thought the younger generation (young Gen X and Gen Y) want out of membership in a professional organization and what type of events they would find valuable. Personally, I joined LOPSA to network with others in my field, to increase my knowledge in technical areas, and to add an additional avenue I can go down to seek out answers. To go along with this, I enjoy attending events which closely align with these interests and feature experts in the field of IT. How about you guys? Would love to hear your opinions on the matter. -Evan
