I have found that iPhone support for Google Apps is solid.

But, assuming that your iPhone users are also Mac OS X users, you may
have difficulty with Mac OS X calendar+contacts integration with
Google Apps.  I believe Office 2011 does not support CalDAV nor
CardDAV
