Sorry, I wasn't looking for an official announcement. More of a "has
anyone found that you can use your own domain with google now" ? I know
of hundreds of people with 1-account google apps domains. I shifted to
Free Apps long, long before they did the recent merger of accounts that
(mostly) made all accounts equal, google or gapps either way. It is
entirely plausible that you no longer need to have gapps to use your own
domain cleanly. If so, some lopsa or google-provided howtos would be nice.
Nutshell: friendly curious, not official :)
Yes, I moved my domain (the one I'm email from right now) over to google
apps for domains ($ version) about 6 years ago at a time when my home IP
changed from a netblock that could be mailed from to one on black-listed
DSL space where it was too painful to run my own mail server. It works.
They have instructions for what to do.
