I've been using my Nexus 7 every day since I received it last summer and
have been very happy with it. I purchased one of the 8GB models, which have
since been discontinued in favor of the 16GB model for the same price.
Although the tablet doesn't have an SD card slot, the limited storage
hasn't been an issue for me. As long as I have wifi access (or can tether
my phone), I can access cloud storage. Or, (much more convenient) since the
micro-usb port supports USB On-the-Go, I got a $2 adapter on amazon and now
I can plug any thumbdrive (or printer, camera, etc) into my tablet and use
it as additional storage.

The battery on the Nexus 7 has been excellent for me. Sitting idle, I've
had the battery last 3-4 days without charging. I don't know what apps or
roms (alternate builds of Android that the community puts out) you might be
running on, but I'm using stock Android 4.2.2 and I've never had any
problems with the tablet not charging if I use it while it is plugged in.
The AC USB adapter it came with has worked fine for me, as has the adapter
that came with my Motorola Droid 2 (which is a complete POS by the way).
There are certainly AC USB adapters out there that don't put out enough
amperage, but any of the official Apple adapters should be just fine.

I've even used mine with my 2 Amp usb car adapter, with the tablet
connected to my phone via wifi for tethering and to my car stereo for
music/audiobook streaming while simultaneously using GPS navigation. Aside
from playing some of the more demanding 3D games out there, that is about
the most stress you can place on the tablet and it was STILL gaining more
power than it was putting out.

If you are really having that much trouble with your tablet taking &
holding a charge, I would recommend you get in touch with Google (if you
are still under warranty) or inquire about the issue on the Nexus 7
