You didn't mention "getting security updates so that you can continue to
trust the device". Unfortunately, that seems to rule out ~any vendor
except Google. If any other vendor wants to be taken seriously, they
need to work on establishing a track record of actually bothering.
I'm a little behind on answering this thread. I've got an Asus
Transformer Prime (the TF200 model; the TF700 is the newer model) that I
absolutely love. It is a 10" screen, so larger than was requested, but
I don't notice the weight as being significant. It has a MicroSD slot
in the tablet, supports BlueTooth, and MicroHDMI. It is great about
getting new updates for both Android and the apps. It has a connector
that can be used for a fulll keyboard dock (which includes extra battery
that'll take you into two to three days of use, depending on what you
are running) with a full side SD slot and USB, or you can attach just a
USB converter, or a device to improve the GPS signal.
As a VMware SE, I take it with me almost exclusively when I go to client
sites to take notes, connect to the network, etc. I generally leave my
Macbook Pro at home.
