Sort of. In reality, there are pros and cons of each. Personally, I have a strong bias in favor of .Net/Mono/Xamarin, rather than OpenJDK/Oracle Java. The reason is that .Net is the firstclass citizen, and Mon/Xamarin are excellent alternatives enabling the cross-platform support.
