YD> To me this story points to another issue: We, as IT professional, have
YD> failed to raise the profile of those laws to the general public. We
YD> talked about it between ourselves, praise the one company who setup a
YD> Warrant Canary etc... but failed to make press releases, and keep it
YD> in the news.
As others have suggested, though, this seems outside the scope of a League
of Professionals, which seems more like it should be defining what it
means to be a Professional System Adminstrator... And not so much taking
positions on propositions like "governments should be more open and
transparent", which don't seem to me to have anything to do with System
Administration as a Profession per se, nor to be a thing about which we
want to be saying that you have to hold a certain position about in order
to be a Professional System Adminstrator.
(As opposed to, say, the System Administrator's Code Of Ethics, which we
think that all sysadmins everywhere should agree with and abide by.)
