I'm not sure I agree with this premise.

you can have SAs that remember all the details of a particular system

you can also have SAs that know how to find the details they need (from google, the man pages, etc)

now, the latter can be people who know nothing and depend entirely on searching, or they can be people who remember a very broad base, but only to a modest level of detail

I think that either very deep or very broad SAs can be very good to have around.
