During OS installation, it prompts you if you want to join a domain. I say yes, and then everything works great. (Assuming you have a LAN available, not so great if you're talking about laptops or mobile systems.) After seeing the dialogue once on a test system, you can figure out the name of the command you could launch on "regular" systems, which have already had their OS installed. It's something like system-config-authentication or something. And after reading the man pages and twerking around a little bit, you can figure out which config files it changed and deploy using whatever configuration manager you prefer. I've heard good things about Centrify and Likewise. I used Likewise minimally a couple years ago, and I liked it, but we never deployed because our needs changed (company acquisition). _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
