Hey Peter, I don't have extensive experience but I have taken Okta for a test spin to see how well it works and evaluate whether it would be of value to our company. Connecting it into our AD environment was extremely simple and they had a great and supportive staff willing to help if necessary.
We use Office 365 and I will say that setting up Okta was far simpler than setting up ADFS (by an order of magnitude). Setting up OKTA for was as simple as installing a wizard driven interface onto a server in a lab domain, entering a URL provided by Okta, and provide your Okta credentials and you're then up and running. Adding applications to work with Okta is then as then typically as simple as selecting the application from their library of supported apps and going through a few basic settings to get things connecting. What I don't know (because we haven't gotten far enough into testing) is what sort of control they give you over getting currently unsupported applications to work with Okta. I don't know if they allow you to interact with any sort of API to get things working on your own or if you're restricted to whatever applications they currently support. In any case, I've had a favorable experience with Okta in my testing. The big competitor I've heard good things about is OneLogin. However, I've not worked with it at all so I can't vouch for it one way or the other. Good luck! -Evan On Thu, Dec 19, 2013 at 2:24 PM, Peter Grace <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello List! > > Our business office is really interested in finding ways to reduce the > number of passwords our salespeople need to keep track of.
