I think the general concept is a good idea, that LOPSA could provide "meetups" online and provide some SysAdmin educational content to the community via that channel. It would basically raise awareness of LOPSA as an org (hey world, there's this thing called LOPSA, here's part of what we do [educate SysAdmins])...
As for format, Maybe a front piece on what LOPSA stands for and how to join at the beginning, and a reminder at the end of the benefits of joining. The content might come out of what OpsSchool has up, for example. Every online session may cover one technology area, lasting for 45 min's or so, and with the front and end LOPSA boilerplate, and end-of-session Q&A, last an hour in total. I myself have limited volunteering time to devote to such an effort as this, but if it launches, I'd be willing to take part. (I think if you care enough to bitch, you should be willing to volunteer to help...) Again, I'd do something like this under the general name of LOPSA, and forget the "virtual chapter" stuff. - Will > On May 10, 2014, at 9:43 AM, Tom Limoncelli <[email protected]> wrote: > > I'll ask the questions I ask every time LOPSA starts a heated debate: > > 1.
