If a job-hunter posts his availability on a list with no
employers, did he really post it at all? :-)

Yup :).

My job referals were responsible for 20% of our company's employee
growth last year and I helped several other people get hired at
other companies as well. I'm currently not a hiring manager or a
c-level, so I don't count as an employer.

For the purpose of that list you *are* acting as an employer, though.

Well, I subscribe here in case something really interesting pops up.

How many of "us" (whether we are acting in a role as the hiring
manager, the HR recruiter, or someone hunting for new peer-co-workers)
are going to make the effort to subscribe to a list with such low
traffic? Is the number of "listeners" large enough to justify
"posting"? My gut says no.

Adding value to the list might increase subscribers.

How many people are on the sajobs list?

But I am not in charge of such things. In fact, the list of things I
am in charge of approaches zero. :)

Same here :).

Heck, earlier in the year I chatted with you about a friend you
mentioned in channel, then geek and I put him in for a
recommendation and now he's working with us :).

Hey speaking of that, I need my finder's fee.... Where's geek?

He's over there -->
