How many people die from software disasters?  It happens (the
Therac-25 comes to mind) but it's not as likely as deaths from
physical engineering disasters.

Spend more time around academia, where people with Doctorates demand
on being called "Doctor" and people without them get their hackles up.
It's almost amusing.
