What: The Linux Foundation will be disabling the ODL Identity
(opendaylight) login realm option on the ODL wiki in preference for
Linux Foundation Identity (LFID) logins

When: Wednesday, October 11 @ 09:00 - 09:30 PDT (16:00 - 16:30 UTC)

Why: In our efforts to work towards better service support of our
projects ODL needs to migrate to using the LFID system which services
all of our other projects for identity.

Impact: As of this morning (2017-10-02) LFID was enabled on the ODL wiki
allowing people to select it as a login realm when logging in. On
Wednesday, October 11 the 'opendaylight' login realm will be disabled
and all logins moving forward will have to be done using LFID. This
transition brings with it an added benefit in that LFID has more
stringent controls in place to protect against spam accounts. This
should significantly reduce (though it will probably never entirely
eliminate) the spam issues that the ODL wiki has been seeing increase in
the last several months.

If you do not yet have an LFID you are encouraged to acquire one before
this change occurs. You may sign up at [0] Please note that the upcoming
transition from Bugzilla to JIRA will also require an LFID. Gerrit
migration will be happening at a later date.

A notice of the disablement of the 'opendaylight' login realm will be
sent out as a reminder just before it is removed.

If you have any questions or concerns related to this, please let me know.
