I had a guy in to look at SkullSpace's electrical situation today -
Dan from GRD Electric. He was recommended to me by an electrical
consultant that our office works with. Dan was very friendly and
receptive - I showed him around the space and he got a good look at
our situation.

The good news is that he is willing to work with us and provide a lot
of free advice. He is fine with us installing all the receptacles,
running the cable to the panel, installing lights, etc. The way it
would work is that we would do all of this ourselves, leave the
receptacles open at the walls after we're done, and leave a certain
length of cable at the main panel. His electrician would then come and
inspect/test the work, and connect it at the panel. Dan charges
$70/hour and rough estimate of us running cables/receptacles for one
room may require $150-200 of time from him.

Some notes from him:
- Our panel uses "wide" breakers; we can actually fit up to 64
breakers on the panel, meaning we have lots of space for circuits.
- In the kitchen, each device should have its own circuit. One for
fridge, one for freezer, one for microwave, etc.
- If we can cool down our server room we'll save power since the
machines have to work harder due to the heat. He suggests running 20A
circuits into the server
- The old fluorescents we've got up take up 2x the power of the new
T8s we'll be installing.
- We may need a 12x12 junction box installed above our panel since
there's a lot of stuff running into the panel already.
- He said we'll need at least a few rolls of 150m 3-wire conductor
cable (to get to circuits on, with the neutral being shared) which are
about $300-400 each. We shouldn't buy them all at once, we should buy
them as-needed. Westburne Electric is better for this than EECOL.

What this means is that we can now start doing our own wiring for
electrical, and finish the renovations that have been on hold because
of this issue!

Can anybody who knows electrical well (Adrian, Mike Loney) please
offer their services so we can once again begin coordinating reno
days? :D

Excited!
~Justin
