Mike, I like where you're going, but I'd like to cut it down and simplify it a little bit:
2 Levels of membership Full membership - $40/month *Pros: *- 24/7 access to the space - Access to events free of charge - Voting Rights - Can run for and hold a director role* *- Can host anything in any part of the space.* *- Workshop access * *Student Member - $20/month (Full time student with valid ID) *Pros: *- 24/7 access to the space - Access to events free of charge - Voting Rights - Can run for and hold a director role* *- Can host anything in any part of the space.* *- Workshop access Notes: - Put recommended donation signs in the hallway for guests - Events cost however much event organizers need/want it to cost. We can't promise free events to any membership level. - You can change from normal member to student immediately by signing up for full time classes at a post-secondary institution - Locked storage, laminate cards, and the like are all fun ideas. I don't have anything against them, but I'm leaving it out of my proposal to keep it focused* *Jay Smith On Tue, Oct 16, 2012 at 12:55 AM, Michael Loney <[email protected]>wrote: > To all members, > > After a few rounds on the discuss list I have put some thought into > different levels of membership that are modeled after other hackerspaces as > well as our own situation.
