Hi,

There has likely been discussion on this topic in person but I haven't seen
it recently on the discuss-list and if it was discussed 18 months or so ago
when setting up Adelaide it may be worth tossing the question out there
again.

When I saw the discussion and announce messages of "Skullspace faces a
financial hurdle, needs help", the indiegogo campaign, and the survey one
of the things that crossed my mind was "I really want a Skullspace to be
there well into the future for myself and Winnipeg. Hopefully my kids will
be into it in time but if not, at least their friends should have the
opportunity. I need to help out however I can."

When I think of groups with history and longevity that serve the needs of a
community of people with common interests I think of churches, curling
clubs, Manitoba Club, golf courses/clubs, even frat/sorority groups. For
the most part, these groups own their spaces. This allows them the
autonomy to adapt the space to meet their needs, even as the needs change
through time and the stability to plan longer term than the length of a
lease agreement. Owning the space also has the side benefit of dues not
going to pay for use of the space in perpetuity.

The thought has been nagging me for the last few days since learning that
moving is a go so just wanted to toss it out to the group to ponder and
weigh in on.
