Who else keeps bringing it up but you? How does it solve the problem of
threads drifting off topic? And since when is mailing list creation the
domain of a select few elites? We've been over this before. Go ahead and
make a mailing list if you think it'll solve the problem - it doesn't even
have to be on the same domain (but I'm sure this domain won't stop you). If
you're right, we'll honestly be grateful. If you're wrong, you've probably
learned a lot about mailing lists in the process. Win - win.

The admins of the current mailing lists are not doing it out if a
demographic mandate or because your membership fees make them your
employees. They do it because they wanted the lists made.

I'm sick of seeing this brought up with the usual complaint that you're
helplessly being vetoed by mysterious elites. You have no right to expect
the current list owners to happily do all of the work required to implement
what they firmly believe to be a stupid idea. Enough of this, do it
yourself if you can't sell anyone else on the idea.
