I think if the idea is to promote the space, and increase membership, public knowledge of the group and what we do is important.
I would handle it myself but I can't be there at that time. I was hoping that someone who might not be doing anything at that time any way, could be there and open the door. I don't think a donation would be needed for someone to use the space for an hour on a day where no one is using it. It would bring in the type of people who would be likely to become members, and would bring the group to the attention of more u of m staff. We have a nice central location, if we can get regular lectures/presentations and attract people, we should.
