If we want to know who is around the space, why don't we just keep statistics on DHCP handouts / renewls? Strip the MAC, and just leave the timestamp.
My guess is that at least 90% of the members connect at least their cellphone to the network, if not their laptops and such. Obviously not terribly accurate.. but in conjunction with the door swipe stuff it may be useful.
