Weird, I think you're right - those are actually links not attachments (my google-made email clients just represent them as attachments - Thunderbird doesn't). Google trickery!
I blame Ron. Nevertheless, my issue is more with the format than the attachment method (although kudos for not sending attachments out to such a large mailing list). We shouldn't be downloading docx files from a hackerspace mailing list. It also doesn't reflect well on us - as a hackerspace - that we'd choose to use such a flashy and commonly abused format for something as simple as a weekly agenda. Plus, I can't help but think that it makes more work for you guys.
