I'm on Mac for SlimServer. Lucky you for actually getting a mini.

Actually, a small control application is in System Prefs. This
controls the SlimServer running behind the scenes.

I use the other option. I think it's "Install for all users, launch
SlimServer at boot."

Just to be sure, you're opening a browser on the Mini, pointing it to
http://localhost:9000, right? Or, is your browser on a remote machine?
Where is your player?

See if you can connect from the local machine (the mini itself) and
then make sure you can get through the Mac firewall from another
machine.

Do you know that it has finished scanning? Have you ever had it play?

How do you know SlimServer has stopped? Did the button change in the
SlimServer pref pane? Activity Monitor? (Hint: in Activity Monitor,
look for the process "perl" to be using some percent of CPU.)

You might want to try with a very small music library if the problem
is quitting before it finishes scanning. Someone else here can tell
you how to turn on debugging and where to find the logs. I've never
had problems.

Let us know how you make out. SlimServer works well in OS X and should
be fine on the mini.
