I'd go with a Pocket PC PDA. Then you could use the following app: http://www.griffintechnology.com/griffinmobile/totalremote/
And make the PDA a universal remote for everything! If you get a PDA that has the cellphone tech so you can get online anywhere, you can browse your slimserver while at the record store to make sure you don't already have that album....
