Then don't use shuffle play. :-)
2. The new songs will be put at the *end* of the current playlist, so in most cases you would have to wait through a lot more tracks before hearing the new stuff--the idea is to have the new stuff start playing immediately after the current song.
Then delete all the songs in the current playlist except the currently playing one before appending the new playlist...
