Static addressing consists of turning off the DHCP feature and manually assigning addresses in the same subnet as the router interface.
If the router interface is 192.168.15.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 then you can statically asign anything from 192.168.15.2 through 192.168.15.254
But, depending on the router, there is the possibility of combining both. My router, for instance, under DHCP Server Configuration has a Start IP Address that van be set, and is currently 192.168.1.10, which presumably would allow one (but from the computers, not the router) to assign addresses in the range 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.9
