Ah Stuart is still here! Most of the changes required are pretty trivial - I had been playing with the plugin trying to get it to work. (I can forward my changes if you want).
The point where I got stuck is that LWP::UserAgent just doesn't work with SlimServer 6.0. All requests fail with an unknown error.
