I have 122 folders and one raw FLAC file in this particular case. Nearly every folder has sub-folders It didn't seem to ever cause a problem with 5.4.1. I'll try to arrange things so that I can use browse by artist or something--but that isn't my normal mode of operation. I think 5.4.1 must have cached the folder list or something because I don't recall it ever causing a drop out like this---which now does it every time almost.
