As someone who is considering purchasing from slim devices, killing this thread is a very good way to put me off from buying. I look for a quality support forum with most technology that I purchase.

As list moderator - I'm killing this thread.
The pony has been beat to death.
It's very obvious that there needs to be some amount of fragmentation of the subject matter here into separate categories. We're still working on an agreeable solution for that.

(sorry, just one more email on this thread please)
Ok, I've been quiet up to this point, but let me just say that my first hand experience with both the SB1 and this mailing list has been first class and I have been very happy. So much so, that I have just purchsed the SB2 and will continue to use this mailing list to help me resolve any issues that I might have - and those have been very few so far, as the SlimServer software has so far run 24/7 without any problems.
I also have 101% confidence that if I did have an issue, the folks on this list, and the folks at Slim Devices would help me resolve them.
In fact, before I joined the mailing list, I was in contact directly with SD support with an issue I had getting the SlimServer to work on my Linux box. It actually had nothing to do with the SlimServer software in the end, but nevertheless, the support I got was fantastic and committed to resolving my issue. (the problem was a Linuxant wireless network driver.)
Just to add, this is how I use this list:
1. I read the emails throughout the day and ignore anything I am not interested in. All Slim Discussion mails are automatically filtered into a dedicated folder, therefore keeping my inbox clean.
2 If I have an issue, then I first do a scan of my Slim folder, if the answer is not there, I check google.com, which displays all the historical issues that have come up on this list in the past. Very useful!
I hope this helps. Sorry to all those hoping not to see another email in this thread!
Regards,
Patrick
