That's the thing...when I had a SB1 with slimserver 5.6, I am almost certain that only the activity lights for the server and the SB were blinking when everything else was idle. I didn't have the stuttering problem then, either. PC #2 had never been the server, it's just a dumb Win98 web-surfing box for my housemate.
I agree. The communication between the SB2 and the server *should be* unicast, but it doesn't appear to be. I will check for background processes running on PC #2, but I set it up and unless my housemate has inadvertently installed spyware (she's very careful about that and has just as much opportunity to do so on PC #1) it's not running anything that PC#1 isn't running.
