Maybe I just don't know how to use it. Should there be artists listed under Help > Birography? Or do I have to go to Brows Artist, then go to Help > Biography?
You can't be wrong: go to the Biography page and it will display whatever information it finds about the currently played artist. It's only looking for music that's currently playing.
I'll try the debug as well.

No, this can have various reasons: may be it does not find the artist, or
there's a timeout while downloading the information.
If you start Slimserver running "slim.exe -d_plugins" from the command
line, you should get a lot of debugging messages. What do they say? What's
the artist's name? Could you try with another artist? And what server
version are you using?
I'll release a new version for slimserver 6.1 which should come with a little more explicit messages.
