I don't use any Instant Messenger  program.  I used ICQ back when very few people were using it and it was great.  Now all Instant Messenger progs are good for is receiving pr0n spam.  I have the gmail notifier set to check every minute or so, so I don't miss any important emails.  Email is almost a quick as IM so I just use that.

Just my $0.02.
