What do you mean by "external plugin"? I almost never us it on the player. I prefer having my PDA and reading it in the web interface. Pretty often it can't even display all the biography at once.
I'd like to see this one incorporated to use as a screensaver (just as the RSS feeds can). Could this be possible in any way?
Technically yes. But I don't like ticker style reading - it's always too fast or too slow, but never easy to read. Especially if it's more than just a headline.
I guess one of the difficulties is that the screensaver should update in sync with the tracks (so that a new biography is loaded at the start of a new track), which is a bit agains the nature of a screensaver I guess.
Not at all. Typically the "Now playing..." screensaver or my MusicInfoSCR do exactly this: display information about the currently playing song.
Maybe there's some difficulty in this, but on the other hand the slimserver programmers have solved bigger problems :-)
And I think there are still some bigger problems to solve ;-). I'm sorry, but I'm not so sure whether I'll soon try to do that screensaver part. But I'll note it down for a rainy period...
