okay. strange behavior here. for the first, even if SB shows the albums as four albums, Itunes does not. in itunes it is one album.
I did now drop the itunes and went for the folder type of reading my archive instead. there it does show the album as one album! I have checked and rechecked and the Year tag is 1988 on all songs in the album.
