If you have modified convert.conf or types.conf you should save these as well as they may be overwritten by a new installation.
Some users have modified convert.conf to support new audio formats or change how existing formats are handled such as changing m4a decoding to use faad instead of mov123. Similarly some user may have modifed types.conf to add in additional file name extensions.
