I would be intrested in an digital output only transporter, without the esoteric dac. So that i can stream 24/96 but I already have a high end HT preamp and no need for even a good DAC.
Maybe a compromize product, with the ability to actually stream high rez formats, but not that ultra high end build quality on analog side or power suplies. My SB3 streams ordinarie 24/44 perfectly I've compared to my high end Meridian transport. So for digital only the transporter is overkill. If you want analog I think the Transporter is just the rigth product. But I think we actually is going to need a SqueezeBox with the capacity to stream multichannel high rez audio ? You can actually buy 5.1 24/96 files online.
