I did see the same problem, I think, and it was annoying for a while - then I must have kicked the right spot because the player list came back and hasn't gone away again.
Unfortunately I didn't capture exactly what I did and can't now reproduce, so can't much help in trying to pin down the problem ... but I can at least confirm that you are not alone! Edit: I don't think I had Softsqueeze running at any time this was going on....
