Quad Core PCs and a Dual Core PC in my home and all of them run
perfectly well on Ubuntu installed from the LiveCD following pretty
much the same approach as that of a Windows install, ie insert CD,
answer a few questions and let the PC do its thing. A short time later
I have a fully functional PC, incorporating internet access, word
processing, spreadsheet, email, music player etc. etc. etc. and I
haven't had to install or update a single driver requiring countless
reboots. Not a single technical question asked, file edited, script
written or command line touched.
