One can trivially use linux without such stuff. One can not setup a
complex system, such as SqueezeCenter, without occasionally needing the
heiroglyphics.

If you want to try linux, find a geek friend, buy him/her a beer, and
get past the voodoo.

Windows costs real money. I write software for a living, and play around
with music. I expect to get paid for what I do. So with Microsoft
wanting about $100 for Windows, if I use Windows I have to pay them.

I'd rather get 8 more albums.
