SB Classic adds cost but gives you a multi-purpose display and IR in/ out capability. You can display information from news feeds while music is not playing and you can use the SB Classic as an IR Receiver/ Blaster to control your other equipment if you'd like to keep them hidden. And, there is also the matter of form factor.
