You could just go wired for the receiver. I just bought ethernet powerline adapters (plug the router in to one and plug the receiver into the other - ethernet connection, but through your electrical outlets!), and it's so nice not to have to worry about wireless signal strength anymore! Granted they cost about $100 US (plus or minus).
