You're right, but the OP complaint remains valid.

When the Controller is awaken, response time is the same as when using
the IR remote.
But in my own experience, when it went to sleep, awaiting for it to be
completely operational can take up to 30-45 seconds.

Since the IR remote never goes to sleep, its response times seem
statistically better.
