That's right. The case & shape of the units is obviously different, but the VFD and electronics are the same.** The SB3 screen is a different color than the SB2 due to a different lens in front of the VFD, and the SB3 screen is not as quite bright as the SB2 for the same reason. -Peter ** Newer SB3s have a slightly different, and theoretically slightly better, Burr-Brown DAC than the SB2s and older SB3s.
