I know what you are talking about.  My Duet arrived on a day that I
came home a little early from work to cut the grass.  After spending an
hour and getting sucked into setting the Duet up, my wife starting
getting a bit upset telling me that "my stuff always comes first". :-).
It was after cutting the grass that I finally figured it out.

The duet is just by its nature more complicated to set up.  A large
part of it is the fact that you are actually setting up 2 devices, not
just one.  And, as you go through the setup for the first time, it
isn't really clear to you what you are setting up at any given point in
time.  Having security on your squeezecenter complicates things
further.

Having gone through a factory reset as a troubleshooting step on my
controller recently, I can say that the setup procedure has improved
and worked much better.
