*UPDATE* Problem now resolved, setting exceptions on Avast! for *.myi and *.myt files did the trick.
Also, there was 1 mp3 file that was throwing the scan off. Never did find out why, but converting it back to itself - i.e. 256kbs mp3 ro 256kbs mp3 in Media Monkey software (Sounds daft but it worked) made it play nice with squeezeserver.
