CDs have no DRM, why should MP3/AAC have one ?
Recording industry doesn't need DRM to make money; in fact, their only
problem, is that they can't make more money every year. 

Their only available solution, is to change the hardware and introduce
DRM-conscious hardware, exactly as they did for HD video (and as Sony
tried with SACD).
Unfortunately you can't expect low-quality gear (as the one needed for
MP3/AAC) to have such (expensive) hardware modifications. That's a
dead-end, at the moment.
