I can see where you are coming from, but I think that it is fundamental to performing decent searches on artists to include them in the artist list... I know this means the list grows huge, but sometime you might just want to listen to a track by "x" and a quick artist search will bring up the possibilities. Rather than having to remember that the song you want is within a "compilation" heading... just my 2 pence' worth!
