I'm seeing the same thing. I use remote streaming (stream.mp3) all the time from work back to my home server. It was working fine in 7.2, but broke in 7.2.1. I even tried to upgrade to 7.3 nightly hoping it was fixed there, but it is not working with this version either. Have you searched for an open bug and/or created a new bug? Definitely seems worth of a bug report to me.
