I don't know of anything that can be done with the SBs other than maybe
playing around with orientation of the boxes in relation to the router.
Not always aesthetically an option.

Some things to try:

Ensure that the aerial(s) on the router (if it has external) are
tightly screwed in.

Using the player's signal strength meter, try different orientations of
the router's aerial(s).

Step through all the available Wi-Fi channels on the router looking for
the best combination of signal strength & stability. A stable 50% is
better than a peak of 60% that also dips below 50%.

Switch off any redundancy in the router. ie if the router supports "b"
& "g" & you only have "g" devices, select "g" only.

Consider replacing the aerial with a high gain alternative, maybe with
an extension cable. Or adding a parabolic reflector. Here's a DIY
jobbie but there are commercial varieties available.

As I said there, & apparently supported by your Transporter experience,
there does seem to be something inherently poor in the SB3's Wi-Fi.
