I don't know of anything that can be done with the SBs other than maybe playing around with orientation of the boxes in relation to the router. Not always aesthetically an option.
Some things to try: Ensure that the aerial(s) on the router (if it has external) are tightly screwed in. Using the player's signal strength meter, try different orientations of the router's aerial(s). Step through all the available Wi-Fi channels on the router looking for the best combination of signal strength & stability. A stable 50% is better than a peak of 60% that also dips below 50%. Switch off any redundancy in the router. ie if the router supports "b" & "g" & you only have "g" devices, select "g" only. Consider replacing the aerial with a high gain alternative, maybe with an extension cable. Or adding a parabolic reflector. Here's a DIY jobbie but there are commercial varieties available. http://www.freeantennas.com/projects/template2/index.html I've asked the same sort of question but from the router end here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54691 As I said there, & apparently supported by your Transporter experience, there does seem to be something inherently poor in the SB3's Wi-Fi. -- rbz5416 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ rbz5416's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12089 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54672 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
