I had this exact problem: weak wireless signal after I moved, and ended
up with the wireless router and the SB3 too far away from one another,
or with too many obstructions between them. I bought a wireless gaming
bridge - basically something that bridges a wired only device (XBox,
etc) to a wireless network. The benefit is, most of these bridges have
higher gain external antenna when compared to the SB3. So for about
$50, I was able to solve my problem without any modifications to the
SB3 itself. You could even replace the regular antenna on the bridge
with an even higher gain antenna if it's still not enough.

My SB3 is the most expensive part of my stereo. So I'm not going to brag
about it.
And my SBB as well...Is it wrong that my alarm clock is worth more than
most of my stereo components? I need to work on that.
